From Knox County Schools District Calendar

In response to recommendations from our Disparities in Educational Outcomes task force, Knox County Schools has developed a proposal for new disciplinary guidelines for school administrators. We will be distributing a survey and holding two community forums (5:30–7 p.m. at Central High School on Monday, Feb. 12, 2018, and at West Valley Middle School on Thursday, Feb. 15, 2018) to gather input and feedback on the proposed guidelines. The survey and forums are for all parents and community members.

Proposed Discipline Guidelines - Behavior Levels and Responses

Discipline Guideline Parent and Community Survey

After a quick overview, I don't really see how "Possession or Use of Tobacco Products (including Electronic Cigarettes)" or "Inappropriate Use of Electronic Device" is in the same category as "Profanity/Abusive Language to Staff" or "Theft of Property (Under $1000)". Maybe they should further define some of these, e.g. Bus misconduct, Inappropriate Use of Electronic Device, etc..

Kudos to those that have the fortitude to be educators.
