In the first 10 months there were 437 deaths. 602 total in the 12 months of the pandemic,
Over the last 7 days the positivity rate is still 9.5%.
11 in the 18-44 age group (2%)
83 in the 45-64 age group (14%)
140 in the 65-74 age group (23%)
367 in the 75+ age group (61%)
As of March 16, 2021, ICU bed available capacity is at 14.5%.
The percentage is better than the last time I reported on 12/27/2020.
However, the number of ICU beds was increased from 284 to 317.
It's not over people. Please be careful. Wear a mask! Do not gather in groups.

Statistics
The chart at the very bottom of the Knox county covid page shows a decline in deaths so we are now at October levels.
It seems pretty likely vulnerable people got infected at holiday gatherings and then struggled for a month or two before succumbing.

Positivity rate
(in reply to bizgrrl)
Last nights county commission vote was essentially a last ditch effort to kill as many citizens as possible before covid is under control locally. It's becoming more and more clear that our local anti-masking effort is part of a broader national movement toward fascism. Wear a mask. Be careful out there. We still have a ways to go.
We should expect, and plan for, another surge.
We don't need no stinking Board of Health
Not even a photo of his dying father could change their minds. I want them all (except 3) out of office and will work to make that happen.

In approx. 16 days there have been 18 additional deaths in Knox County from the coronavirus.

All is not okay. Get your vaccine. Help those around you get theirs.
Talked with a neighbor, they drove to Athens TN to get theirs.
Valentines Day Bump
(in reply to bizgrrl)
We just came out of the period reflected by Valentine's day.
Look for an even bigger Easter bump and consistently rising case numbers. This summer's not shaping up too good. The messaging from Commission and the Mayor from disbanding the Board of Health corresponds directly with the rising caseload. Who runs off one of the top medical field officers in America during a pandemic?
