Regarding Putin from the NY Times in 2007;

The world needs a “new architecture of international economic relations based on trust and mutually beneficial integration,” he said. “Today protectionism, which the W.T.O. is meant to fight, often comes from developed economies.”

He said that more than 60 percent of the world’s output was produced outside the G-7 countries: the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Italy, Japan and Canada.

With Russia marginalized globally, it'd be tough for the Russian president to disrupt NATO, the EU, the IMF, the G7 and the WTO to get the new economic relations he's sought for over a decade.

If only he had somebody to do the disrupting for him.

I don't believe he came up with that other stuff. Too many big words. He's a puppet. Who is the master?

Trump knows words.

He has the best words, but the ones quoted were actually Putin's.

To which, I think everyone in the world knows the answer to your question, sans Trump.

P.S. your point about Trump

P.S. your point about Trump being Putin's chosen disruptor is exactly right. Sometimes I think people are starting to catch on. But then Fox News.

I hope some are, but it still

I hope some are, but it still seems on the periphery. I think most in DC, including the intelligence agencies, are down with the idea of a "richer" America and would engage Russia if a benefit could be derived.

But there is a reason the world has kept Russia/Putin out of the mix. We've seen how he can destabilize free societies using very little resources. Imagine if he was able to unleash his estimated $200 billion personal wealth, along Russia's collective coffers, on the global economy.

I think a financier formerly dealing in Russia said it best.

OMG. Unprecedented. It just keeps getting worse and no one does anything. Unreal.

Just today the president said, "faulted “U.S. foolishness and stupidity” for relations with Russia. Yesterday he called the European Union an enemy of the U.S.

I know things take time

Hell, I know people 6 years in a divorce case.

But it'd be great if Mueller can wrap up sooner than later.

Just another tool in the toolbox

Via NYT's Michael Tackett -

“I have President Putin, he just said it’s not Russia. I have no reason why it would be,” Trump said.

Which Tennessee Republicans support the above statement that contradicts what US Intel agencies have said was a deliberate attack on election system? If so, why?
