I assume this isn't just happening in California.
While the nation continues to see record levels of new Covid-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths, wealthy patients in Southern California -- the epicenter of the state's Covid-19 crisis -- are offering to pay top dollar to cut the line and be among the first to receive a vaccine.

As of Dec. 18 at Least 128,000 People in U.S. received vaccine
At Least 128,000 People in the U.S. Have Received the Covid-19 Vaccine
Who are getting the first doses in Tennessee?
(in reply to jbr)
According to NY Times Tennessee got 56,550 doses and 2,711 have gotten the vaccine as of Dec 18. Wonder who are the 2,711?
At Least 128,000 People in the U.S. Have Received the Covid-19 Vaccine
Something is very irregular
(in reply to jbr)
Something is very irregular about the doses Tennessee recieved when compared to other states. And I don't mean just a little irregularities. Most states have recieved doses in the five digit range and Tennessee is at the bottom of all states in the low four digit amounts, and other than Idaho, were not even close to the other states amount of doses recieved. Even DC has recieved nearly three times the doses Tennessee has?
I'm like you, I'm curious of who the 2700 people who recieved the vaccine are? Not by name but by if they were frontline workers, corporate leaders, government officials, rich, poor, or whoever they are?
